About the Center
INFORMATION REGARDING a Fruita Community Center
Let’s be proud in bringing our community a state of the art facility with enough space to satisfy our community’s needs and expected growth. Last November, Fruita citizens rallied and voted to build a Fruita Community Center, passing an increase in city sales and use tax by 1%. A community center will be built with the $15 million. This local campaign will help leverage other grant funding sources. Government and private foundation sources are slated for requests of an additional $805,000. All this to help expand the swimming pool and add space within the community center. Recognizing what a great asset the community center offers, pulling together more funding today will only enhance what will be offered to the Fruita residents for years to come.
Mesa County Libraries will be partnering with the City of Fruita
to move and expand their library site to the Fruita community recreation
center. Mesa County Libraries would fund all the construction and
operations of the library at the community recreation center. Library
space would add 7,000 – 10,000 additional square feet.
