Why hold a local community campaign?

Let’s be proud in bringing our community a state of the art facility with enough space to satisfy our community’s needs and expected growth. Last November, Fruita citizens rallied and voted to build a Fruita Community Center, passing an increase in city sales and use tax by 1%. A community center will be built with the $15 million. This local campaign will help leverage other grant funding sources. Government and private foundation sources are slated for requests of an additional $805,000. All this to help expand the swimming pool and add space within the community center. Recognizing what a great asset the community center offers, pulling together more funding today will only enhance what will be offered to the Fruita residents for years to come.

How much is needed?

The local community campaign is seeking to raise a total of $279,000. As of May the good news is we have already secured more than $189,000 toward that goal with a remaining $90,000 needed to fulfill our local fund raising needs. Thank you in advance for your support!

Campaign vision: A vision is nearly realized. Fruita seniors thought about what it would mean to their community to have a community center with a senior citizen component. Cross-generational activities benefit both the young and the young at heart.

More than 10 years ago it was a dream. Today, the dream is soon to be realized. Fruita seniors are credited with raising $88,000 toward the new community center, in particular for their own senior center space within the Fruita Community Center.

Communities at their core foster a sense of connection that gives purpose and makes life more meaningful. The realization of the Fruita Community Center, in a true sense, will serve our community for many generations to come.

Campaign plan: All are encouraged to support the ‘Fill the pool’ campaign. "Fill the Pool" campaign is a visual way to demonstrate how easy it is to help.

Members of the Fruita Fundraising Committee will meet with local community businesses, service clubs, and other community groups. At local community events and other occasions families and individuals will be asked for their financial support too.
